Getting Around Seville: Transport and Practical Tips
Seville is a comfortable city that’s easy to get around. Its size, pleasant climate, and variety of transport options make exploring Seville simple, whether you’re visiting for a weekend or staying several days. Here are the best ways to get around the city depending on your travel plans.

Exploring Seville on Foot
Walking is undoubtedly one of the best ways to discover Seville. The historic centre is extensive but very enjoyable to explore on foot, allowing you to take your time in neighbourhoods such as Santa Cruz, El Arenal, or Triana.
Many pedestrian areas, squares, and charming streets make strolling through Seville an experience in itself. If you’re staying in the city centre, you probably won’t need public transport to visit most of the main monuments and attractions.

Public Transport in Seville
Seville’s urban bus network, run by TUSSAM, covers almost the entire city. It’s a good option for longer journeys or for reaching districts further from the centre.
There are single tickets as well as multi-ride passes, which are more economical if you plan to use the bus frequently. Apps like Google Maps make it easy to see which line to take and where to get off.

Seville Metro
Seville currently has only one metro line, connecting areas such as Nervión, San Bernardo, and Aljarafe. It’s not essential for classic sightseeing but can be useful if you’re staying in one of these areas or travelling outside the historic centre.

Tram (MetroCentro)
The tram runs through part of Seville’s city centre and can be convenient for those who prefer to avoid long walks. It connects key points such as Plaza Nueva, the Archivo de Indias, and the San Bernardo area.

Taxis, Uber y Cabify
Seville has official taxis that are easy to recognise, as well as services like Uber and Cabify, which operate normally throughout the city.
They are a good option for short journeys, late-night trips, or getting to your accommodation with luggage. Prices are generally reasonable, especially if the ride is shared.
Getting from the Airport to the City Centre
Seville Airport is well connected to the city. The most common options are:
-
EA Bus: connects the airport with the city centre and Santa Justa station.
-
Taxi: convenient and direct, with a fixed approximate fare.
-
Uber and Cabify: available with similar prices to taxis.
The journey usually takes between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
